In 2005, when director Jean-Marie Vinclair filmed the inauguration of the “Raymond Vinclair” plaque in the square that would bear his name, he was stunned: why was this relative, who died a martyr in Germany during the Second World War, unknown even to his own family? A few years later, after marrying a German woman and becoming the father of two boys, the director begins a quest to reconnect with the thread of this lost memory.
